Séverin Ronneau - Junior Group Leader (ATIP-Avenir)

Dr. Séverin Ronneau obtained his PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Dr. Régis Hallez at the University of Namur, Belgium, where he investigated the regulation of (p)ppGpp alarmone in Caulobacter crescentus. In 2017, he joined Dr. Sophie Helaine’s lab at Imperial College London, supported by an EMBO fellowship, to explore how Salmonella evades antibiotic treatment during infection. In 2020, he moved to Harvard Medical School in Boston with Dr. Sophie Helaine to continue his research project. In 2022, Dr. Ronneau returned to the University of Namur with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship (MSCA-C2W) to study how Salmonella adapts to its host through bacterial stress responses. In 2024, he was awarded an ATIP-Avenir fellowship to establish his own research group in Rennes, France, where he continues to investigate the adaptability of high-priority bacterial pathogens within the context of infection.

Eva Michaud - Master Student

Eva Michaud is a second-year Master's student in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Rennes, where she also obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. She is currently pursuing a six-month Master's thesis in the Ronneau Lab, focusing on the role of (p)ppGpp in bacterial adaptation to environmental stresses. Fueled by her lifelong passion for science, Eva sees research as an essential path to advancing our understanding of biological mechanisms and driving progress in human health.
